Welcome

Welcome to my blog.

I've always been a collector of dolls. I loved dolls as a kid. My favorites then were Barbie and I had a doll that my mother gave me that she had a brides dress made for it. I was playing on the front verandah with my cousin and left my doll on the front verandah and it was stolen on my birthday the very day I'd been presented with this gorgeous baby doll dressed as a bride. I was devasted. Then when I grew up I started to collect porcelain dolls. Years ago I purchased a beautiful porcelain baby in a christening gown from a doll shop it was very expensive and beautiful. Unfortunately my little girl dropped it and it broke. I kept the dress but had to throw the doll in the bin. I locked my other precious porcelain baby away in the wall unit so it wouldn't get broken and never purchased another one. Until recently when I discovered Reborn dolls on ebay. They were like no other doll I'd ever seen they were like real babies in every detail from the veins on there little legs and face to dribble in the mouth and blemishes on the skin. And hair that was just so perfect and like a real baby. I couldn't believe it. This was what I was meant to collect. I fell in love with them straight away. I purchased one for myself and decided to get one for my youngest daughters birthday. She's turning 11 and I explained to her these are as precious as a real baby and she was going to need to be extremely careful with them as although they don't smash like a porcelain doll they can break or get damaged as they are not a toy to be thrown around. This first posting is a scrapbook of the little boy baby Jesse, that I purchased for Amy's birthday. It is a Berenguer Baby with tummy plate and was reborn by Kimberley Chase of Rose Petal Nursey in the USA. As I've only just purchased him I'm using her photos to show you as I'm waiting for him to arrive - hopefully in time for her birthday.
